rescued from a dumpster

Dumpsters attract my attention when I'm out walking but usually they're filled with debris. How about this iron planter?? I went right out to buy moss and plants and in no time I've got happy flowers perched on my deck railing.

Here's an idea...

We all know times are tough and everybody's looking for ways to spend less and earn more. So, we thought of our house and set to wondering.... can we put it to work for us ? Then I ran into a friend who said she and her husband were taking some short trips since they rent out their house on VRBO (Vacation Rentals By Owner) and need to vacate now and then. Aha! I thought, here's an idea...

We're lucky to live in a nice Marin County location, about 20 minutes from SF. But before we think of promoting this possible cash cow, we have to spruce up. That's the subject of this blog (there may be some detours along the way too of things that catch my eye).
